A permanent exhibition of 1200 Barbie dolls and Monster High
Do you love beautiful dolls? Do you collect them or only enjoy looking at them? Then you should certainly visit the `Dolls Land` gallery in Prague.
Located In two rooms of a historic house at 6 Rytirska Street in Prague 1. There are 45 glass exhibition cases waiting for you to look at holding more than 1200 Barbie dolls and over 3000 accessories. An impressive part of the gallery is the collection of 360 Barbie Collector dolls with such gems as, the `Empress Josephine Barbie`, which was produced in a limited edition of 4,500 pieces worldwide. This doll alone has a current collector’s value of almost 800 Euros. Also In the gallery you can see many other collectible `Barbie` dolls which were produced in limited editions ranging from 3,550 to 10,000 pieces worldwide.
Among other collectible Barbie dolls you can see are famous musical and movie stars like Cher, the `James Bond` girls, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and Shakira. There are also famous and popular children’s movie characters like Shrek, Harry Potter, Jack Sparrow and the Twilight saga.
For fashion fans there are special collections of Barbie Basics and Barbies inspired by famous designers such as Christian Dior, Versace, Christian Louboutin, Givenchy and Gorgio Armani. For lovers of big motorcycles there is a collection with Barbie and Ken set in the style of Harley Davidson along with two authentic copies of Harley Davidson`s in 1:6 scale.
You will find the Dolls Land Gallery in the centre of Prague at 6 Rytirska street which is within walking distance of `Mustek` underground station. The exhibition is open all year round from Monday till Sunday, 10am – 6pm. Some of the collectible Barbie dolls and Monster High dolls can be bought in the gallery.
The gallery is easily accessible for mothers with prams and baby carriages, and also people in wheelchairs. For small visitors a small playground is open, where they can draw, watch fairy tales with Barbie or dance on some of the dancing mats.
